MBRAUN / Our History
In the
early 1970's, the first inert atmosphere glovebox
reached the market. The need for this type of equipment
was rapidly rising, but some facilities were unsatisfied
with the available technology.
Two young, skilled and dedicated engineers Mr. Hellmut
Fölster and Mr. Gerhard Hinrichs were asked to develop
and build a glovebox system that would satisfy their
higher demands for technology and quality. After the
first system was produced, its success led to the
formation of "M.Braun Labortechnische Geräte GmbH" in
1974.
This company was dedicated to the development,
manufacture and advancement of inert gas technology. The
reliability of operation and purity of environments
quickly earned
MBRAUN the reputation of
producing the finest gloveboxes available.
MBRAUN
has continuously grown and expanded its sales area from
Europe to the United States and Asia.

Milestone 1994 |

In 1994 the daughter
company
M.Braun Inc.
was founded in the USA.
MBRAUN USA has grown into
the leading glovebox manufacturer in the United States

Milestone 2002 |
|
In 2002 the daughter
company
M.Braun Inertgas Systems, Shanghai
was founded in China to serve this exploding market
directly.
In 2002
Indus Holding AG
a 750 M € company acquired MBRAUN
and will sustain the further growth of the
MBRAUN
Group.
The headquarters company name was changed from "M.Braun
Labortechnische Geräte GmbH" to "M. Braun
Inertgas-Systeme GmbH".

Milestone 2003 |

In 2003 M. Braun
Inertgas-Systeme GmbH in Germany moved to a new building
in Garching close to Munich Airport.

Milestone 2006 |
|
In 2006
MBRAUN acquired the Mecalab AG. The company name
was changed from "Mecalab AG" to "Mecalab - M. Braun
AG".
The
Mecalab - M. Braun AG
located in Grenchen, Switzerland is dedicated to run the
worldwide "Pharma" business for the
MBRAUN Group.

In 2007
MBraun UK & Ireland open doors to support growing demand
in the UK and Ireland marketplace

Milestone 2008 |
|
In 2008 MBraun
Inc. opens a sales office in California to better
support the west coast customer base.

Quality Certification |
|
MBRAUN is
steadily growing and ships more than 800 Glovebox
systems a year. The focus shifts from standard products
to customized mass production lines with a lot of
automation incorporated. The main market segments are
OLED production lines, High-Tech gas discharge lamp
production lines and lines for Li- ion battery
production.
MBRAUN is DIN EN ISO
9001:2000 certified.
